In every step of our journeys with Jesus, He is so gracious in showing us exactly where He wants us to be. However, there are times when we take things into our own hands and get ahead of the path. We’ve all been there before I’m sure. The Lord spoke to my heart during one of these moments and reminded me of the story of Joshua.
Right before stepping out into the rivers of the Jordan and into the Promised Land, the officers gave orders of when to get up and follow the ark of the covenant. They said, “yet there shall be a space between you and it.. Do not come near it, that you may know the way by which you must go, for you have not passed this way before” (Joshua 3:4). They had to leave room for glory. This was uncharted territory for the Israelites and the task appeared impossible, but following and trusting God made their journey possible. The same goes for you and I- we must believe that Jesus goes before us. HE does the impossible. He gets all the glory!!

Profession of Faith
In the past two months, as mission training slows down at Calvary Saving Grace, I have been able to dedicate more energy to my Internship with Calvary South OC. Much of the recent work consisted in the preparation for Vacation Bible School, such as making decorations for an underwater theme- Scuba! I was in a constant state of awe in seeing how the Lord stirred gifts within me to use for His glory!
With nearly 300 kids- this VBS was my favorite. Six out of the nine kids in my VBS group were not from a church community at all. The children heard the Good News daily and on the fourth day were given the opportunity to respond and make a profession of faith. With excitement I was able to watch as one of the kids prayed for Jesus to come into his heart for the first time ever! It was such a blessing to be able to witness a little boy’s heart being touched and moved by the Spirit of God. He worshiped with his hands high in the air! Please be praying for Aiden and his family- may their hearts be truly changed and may they get involved in a church community.

Preparing the Path
God willing, I will be heading back to Osaka with a team on September 6th. From there we will be heading to the Southeast Asia Missions Conference in Thailand. After the conference, I will be returning to Osaka for a couple of weeks. I wasn’t sure what my role was going to be at Calvary Chapel Abide, but God knew. He showed me clearly that He has been preparing the path for me this whole time to assist them with Kids Ministry. This has been a prayer for the Pastor and his wife for the past couple of years- what an answer to prayer! The Lord is so gracious in leading us and guiding us into His good and perfect will. I’m learning to take every day step by step, to submit my plans to God, and know that He has already made a way. May we continue to follow and trust in Jesus!

Thank you all for taking the time to read about what God is doing! I would love to hear what the Lord is doing in your life and how I can be praying for you as well. May you also be encouraged to step out into the unknown, into the impossible, into that situation that seems like there is no way through. Trust and know that Jesus has gone before you and has already prepared the way! May we continue to leave room for His glory!

He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see.
To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.
