Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.
Luke 24:49
It was right before His ascension, Jesus left His disciples with these last words- tarry in the city. And that is exactly where I find myself right now.
As y’all know, I have been praying for my Visa to arrive before the end of this year in order to start the school semester in January. However, it looks like God’s timing is even better. The Lord knows exactly when I need to be there and I do trust His perfect timing. As of now, I will continue to wait.
After all, tarrying in South OC is not a bad place to wait. God sure has a funny sense of humor!
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
And whose hope is the Lord.
For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit.Jeremiah 17:7-8
In the beginning of the year, the Lord gave me the word Trust and the verse above for 2024. To trust in Him. To trust in His promises. To not be moved by circumstances or trials. Through that I also grew in patience, I continued to surrender, and I remained confident in Him all thanks to His perfect grace.
On the cross, Jesus already accomplished everything I could ever want and need. We can now be reconciled back to God and live an eternity with Him. This is more than I could ever ask for.
I’m exceedingly grateful for His abounding grace this year in using someone like me, a sinner saved by grace, to be an ambassador of Him to all the nations.
Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
2 Corinthians 5:20-21
Thank you family for your love and support this past year. I’m eternally grateful for you all! I pray the Lord continues to direct your paths this year, may He bring you peace, and may He fill you with His abounding joy.
May this year be the year that we make heaven a little more crowded!
May His Kingdom come,
-Mayra Alejandra
